Review criteria
When we evaluate a tool, we typically look at:
- Fit for creators – Does it solve a real short-form or AI-video job (clipping, cleanup, captions, export, etc.)?
- Features vs marketing – What the product actually does, not the slogan
- Pricing clarity – Plans, limits, and gotchas we can document
- Usability – Time-to-first-result and friction for a solo creator or small team
- Quality of output – Where we have used the tool, or cited credible third-party tests when we have not
- Alternatives – When a cheaper, simpler, or more private option may be better
- Honesty gaps – We call out missing proof, vague claims, or things we could not verify
We do not rank tools by who pays the highest commission.
